Worst credit card company I have ever had after a genuine fraud case. They have some very bad reviews and here is a copy of mine if it helps others.
Their dispute and fraud department are useless when needed.
Well if the majority of one star reviews of Citicards is not enough for you here is another one that I hope will allow me to post a photo of as well. I disputed a charge with Citicards issued through Costco after a merchant failed to ship an overnight package valued at $363.90 through UPS. One would think easy, file a dispute since there is no tracking number provided from the merchant as required per the seller's website and the $40.00 overnight shipping on my receipt from the online merchant. If you think the dispute department can handle this simple dispute you are mistaken.
The dispute department actually accepted a printed form from the merchant claiming shipment without the UPS name or tracking number on it as proof of delivery so I could follow up with UPS. I tried to move this up their poor service department as fraud as the merchant has attempted to claim shipping with their printout but not provided the actual shipping company or tracking number to keep the stolen funds and have been denied. This company is inept at best. Well now I am having to file a police report for theft of a package to file a claim under the card benefit of 90 days of theft coverage on a package that really was never delivered but by their dispute's department was.
I guess if it was delivered then I have to accept it was stolen. This is insane but I guess it is the game cardholders must play when Citicards handles a dispute.

If I could leave this company with zero star rating, I would. I have, many medical conditions And bills to pay.
I opened a new account and deposited my paycheck using the mobile app. I knew it would take a day or so to be available, but instead, 2 days later, they decided to hold it for a week and a half. Making it impossible for me to seek medical treatment (gey my prescriptions), have money for food and gas, and also pay some very necessary bills. I had already set up direct deposit for my next check, and they said I would have access to it immediately after deposit, which was a LIE, and they once again denied me access to the money for four additional days because they had not sent me a debit card yet, which means for 2 weeks they held over $2,500.00 and would provide no resolution.
I couldn't even transfer the money to a friend to help me out, because I did not have the debit card. They told me to go to a local branch. I live in Nashville. The nearest local branch in Chicago.
I spent every day for week a total of six to seven hours on the phone (while very sick with pneumonia due to complications of the flu due to my rheumatoid arthritis and early onset Parkinson's Disease) and STILL GOT NOWHERE. Once I finally got my debit card, they said everything was resolved, ad it wouldn't have any further issues. So I foolishly deposited my next paycheck yesterday (for some stupid reason I actually believed them), which I needed access to in the next day or so. And they're now are saying they're holding it until the 25th and that this is NO WAY to override the computer or speed up receiving MY HARD EARNED MONEY!!
Because it's a computer program, there no one in the entire organization, that can help me, (of course that is according to them). So once again, I'll be going without some medical treatments, and I will have a number of bills that will not be paid because they're holding my money hostage (which those executives making the big bucks will never understand or even respond to). I have been talked down to, patronized offered hollow platitudes, dismissed, been hung up on, and I have had a thoroughly unpleasant banking experience with this company or rthe last month. I am shocked they are allowed to do this.
And I have never, in my forty years of banking, ever run into this problem, PERIOD. I HAVE BEEN IN TEARS, BEGGING FOR HELP AND A SOLUTION, BUT HAVE GOTTEN ZERO HELP. This company is horrible, uncaring, and wholly UNTRUSTWORTHY. DO NOT trust them with your money.
They will continue to screw you and screw you.
And for somebody who desperately relies on his funds for medical care and bills, not to be able to have access to my hard-earned money has been awful and made for a very rough month. PLEASE, FOR YOUR OWN SAKE, NEVER USE THIS BANK.

I am disabled, with severe spinal compression issues that require frequent rest breaks for context. That being said, I have been stranded away from home or anyone I know and have been fighting non-stop since 8 a.m.
with countless reps today after they locked and replaced my debit card without prior notice, leaving me with less than a dollar to get home or even eat all day long. So I spent the entire day trying to work out a method to get access, such as Zelle or wire transfer, only to keep getting fraud alerts placed on me and them cancelling those transactions also. So now, 20 minutes before the end of business, and I have been told for hours a wire transfer would process today, I'm informed it's requiring an audit now and that is 24-48 hours. I will quite literally die overnight with my medical issues if I stay in the situation I've been in all day long.
Not to mention hypoglycemia, and despite this being extremely extenuating circumstances, there is apparently nobody that can be contacted and they are 'very sorry' for the inconvenience. But I'll get a call tomorrow 'hopefully' to resolve it. Like somehow death isn't permanent and I have an extra life in reserve to start over tomorrow?
So I get an apology and hung up on, which has been happening all day long simply because my money is being held away from me for no reason. They won't allow me to close the account either, no local branches here, literally giving me zero alternative options but to die quieter so they don't have to hear it.

Locked my debit card down for no reason!
After trying to buy a few items, that I needed with all the fear of tariffs, Citibank decided to review my debit card account locking me out of using it. I called but they would not give me any information about why it is being reviewed or when this review will come to some kind of conclusion! This is just unacceptable and should be illegal TO SAY THE LEAST, withholding my funds without explanation is criminal!

Terrible company that could be in financial distress, AVOID! Puts profits over people, denies high credit score customers a credit card because they are more likely to pay on time and GREEDY CITI does not make money off of them by charging penalties and fees.
I filed complaints about this and having this practice investigated. Business partners and their customers might be cherry-picked for Citi's own agenda with no regard for their duped partner or customers. Unintelligent company that lacks ethics and customer focus, all imo. I just banned them and any ads other communication will be immediately dismissed and brought to the attention of those above the company.
Do not believe or trust Citibank.
Check out their low financial ratings online and reviews from all the pissed customers. Go elsewhere to a reputable company for your financial needs.

Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with apology. I cancelled the credit card and cancelled the balance transfer
Transferred a balance on credit card on Dec 12 as of Jan 2 still pending called 3 times got 3 different answers ,now the payee is charging 16 percent because they didnt receive payment by due date, my credit rating is excellent I have done balance transfers before in a timely manner with no problems really dont understand the issue with citi bank

Not surprisingly, I never heard a peep from Citicorp.
Couldn't access ATM for credit card payment in NYC because pin/password was "incorrect" (I hadn't changed it). Even before, few ATM locations compared with other major banks.

Where do I even begin with Citibank and their incompetencies? First, your card will be blocked anytime even if there is money on it which makes it annoying out in public. Customer service is crap, they keep switching you over to people overseas and waste your time when you try to get something done.
Their credit card dispute is garbage and make you lose money, and they often side with the thief and provides no protection at all.

No change
After a dozen calls to their off shore customer service and codes sent by text letter by snail mail I'm still stopped from transferring the balance the card was opened for and the months tick away. Us banks only transfer your call back to off shore no help service.

I was shocked and disappointed when Citi Bank closed my account without warning, citing fraud concerns. It was a frustrating ordeal to have my access to funds suddenly cut off.
They said it would take 30-60 days of waiting. Taking funds from my family, especially during the holidays is wrong!
The lack of communication and transparency from Citi Bank during this process is incredibly frustrating. Moving forward, I hope they will take steps to improve their customer service and provide better support to those affected by similar situations in the future.

Trying to talk with someone at that bank is impossible, as they don't have an option to do it. You go online and search and search, and you get nothing at all regarding a way to contact their customer service department.
The only option you get is if you know your account number. Well, I was calling to get my savings account number.

In August while in North Carolina for my Granddaughters wedding my card was declined, I was totally shocked and extremely embarrassed. As soon as I could I called Citi and was told I never made my Aug, payment.
I knew this wasnt true but could not prove it till I got home. Thats when I discovered you credited both card payments to one card and youre still doing it. In the meantime you are destroying my excellent credit rating with false notifications. My many many calls have so far not fixed the problem, and you are still reporting me as delinquent.
I am beyond pissed I am livid, is this how you treat a 20 year customer with a perfect record? Shame on you
